    _octo bbx brings brave new beatbox to your music production battle stations, featuring 117 live loops + 94 one-shot samples performed by OCTO.


    Vancouver’s own OCTO nabbed 3rd place in Vancouver’s own 2023 Beatboxing Championship last year. OCTO’s journey so far has been nothing short of spectacular, but what else would you expect from someone who been living, breathing, and battling for the past 3 years non-stop? As fans of the art form, and OCTO’s award winning personality, we couldn’t pass up the chance to work with him on this sample pack. Thank you OCTO!



    We captured OCTO’s style on some nifty tubed-based gear for extra punch and thickness, but everything else is all OCTO really. 16 different tempos were captured. OCTO’s style is mostly more modern sounds and patterns, and the overall vibe is “techy” with some “goes hard” sprinkled on top. We hope you enjoy this huge collection of loops and one-shots because there is so much great stuff in this one.

      _liquid loops includes over 340 drum & bass drum loops. Created exclusively in hardware, and inspired by the cleaner side of 2-step, this collection offers a ready to pour, undiluted collection of Liquid Drum & Bass inspired building blocks.

      With 16x 4-bar drum patterns made from 16 different percussive palettes, and a whole bucket of pattern variations for each, you can mix and match, or layer and chop as you see fit to create a virtually limitless number of beat variations that work for drum & bass genres. 


      All loops were created at 174 bpm as a happy middle ground for tempo, while the patterns themselves are both different and similar enough to combine and arrange very fluidly. 


      Overall, the style is clean, simple, and ready to make dirty if you so desire. There are a few patterns that hit harder, or syncopate a little sideways, but they don’t stray too far from the overall unified, minimalist feel. This collection of loops can be used together, or as individual loops, which is why we think it’s extra “liquidy.”


      We used both old and new hardware samplers to create these loops with our own samples, and then captured them through an analogue chain consisting of saturation, EQ + compression. We think you’ll enjoy the results and where these loops will blend in your mixes.

        _room tone brings the sound of a distant microphone setup on drums in a small room to an Ableton Drum Rack + 50 clean and 50 on-blast drum loops for the brave ones.


        A subtly atypical drum sound is what you get with these drums They are clean, they are tight, but they have just enough room to pop. Small room drums always bring a dry sort of weight, so a little more space between our mics and the drums gave a more rounded and reflective sound.

        The Ableton Drum rack is easy to play and you can save your own macro presets with individual kit piece levels. We also included a simple but effective reverb send, so you can add a little extra room if you need to! All samples were recorded at 96kHz/24bit and each part of the kit has enough velocity-layered samples to please most production needs. It’s a simple kit for a simple, but useful sound.


        Some people don’t like making their own beats, so we included a wide variety of tempos and styles to get things going with 50 drum loops. Also included, 50 drum loops with way too much analogue distortion for those that keep it really crunchy.
