    _meld 256 celebrates the release of Ableton 12 with 256 presets for its new bi-timbral synth, Meld. An abundance of aural amalgams await.


    Live 12 Suite’s new macro oscillator synthesizer Meld is designed to create unexpected sound design successes. Inspired by modular synthesis, Meld is a new device that encourages intuitive exploration, using two engines, a vast selection of complex oscillators, and interesting ways to route, cross-modulate and combine engine timbres.


    We’ve been hard at work making this huge pack of presets for the launch of Ableton 12, while getting to know the new features that help enhance them, like the new tagging and filter features. Preset tags are now included with our Ableton presets so you can find what you’re after faster!


    We wanted to push and pull Meld to its limits and explore it as much as possible. Meld’s “macro oscillators” sound new in many ways to us, and there are plenty of new tonal abstractions that we came up with. This collection of sounds is quite varied, but is still a very useable set of sounds that are useful across many genres.

      _rotary club brings the sumptuous sounds of spinning speakers to Ableton Live for all humankind, with easy to use controls and 64 effects presets.


      The “Leslie” speaker effect was made famous by Hammond organs blasting through them, but this mechanically-based “doppler effect” in-a-box has also been used on countless different instruments and voices since its invention. It’s a tough effect to emulate exactly, and many have failed in doing so. We’re not saying that we’ve mastered an accurate model of a real rotating speaker, but we’ve made it a lot more fun and easy to get “that sound” in Ableton in the form of an Ableton effects rack.


      Use the 16 macros to design your own dynamic doppler. Add some barely bluesy amp modelling, tweak your tubes, make it more vintage, and add some noise to any sound. Dial in some stage style reverb, a classic ensemble/chorus effect, and the amount + speed of spin you desire. With 16 macro controls that can be easily automated, and 64 macro sound effects presets, you’ll be the sultan of spin in less than a revolution.

        _space jam takes Ableton’s Scale MIDI effect and the Collision instrument to new sectors of the galaxy with 36 instruments and a custom audio effects rack to match.


        This release is only available to our Subsocial Forever sounds plan members.


        The “jam” component of this Ableton creation comes from the quasi-chaotic way you interact with it. It’s generously generative, almost arpeggiated, respectfully random, but securely scaled to whatever you’re laying down. You may feel like you have control, but you’re simply making suggestions. The “space” is our custom audio effects rack that takes what’s created to new dimensions of melodiousness.


        Each of the 36 different jams in 36 different scales is crafted from 5 Collision instruments in parallel, and a handful of curated Ableton effects. Packaged as a duo consisting of an instrument and an audio effects rack, you can easily get sounds flowing with press of any key on your keyboard and you’ll instantly start generating cosmic delights. We’ve littered the controls and parameters of this instrument with what we feel is just enough randomness. 


        Adjust or automate the macro knobs on the instrument and the audio effects rack to shape and control what’s out of your control. You’ll find a pleasant combination of chaos and a sense of design smiles upon you as you mold and melt your way through what happens next.
