The people always need, and always ask for more “percs” - so here’s a huge set of samples and a drum rack for Ableton Live that offers something a little different. Contact microphones offer a unique and more rare way of recording sounds through direct contact, so they pick up direct vibrations instead of acoustic sound energy. This gives the sound a more simple and pure character that’s hard to replicate. It could be described as a very muffled, resonant, full, synthetic, or even very dry and direct sound.
We recorded actual drums, cymbals, metal, wood, and all sorts of other object that made useful drum or percussion type sounds. We used 3 different types of contact microphones in various configurations to capture these drum samples, and we believe they make up a very different, but very usable percussion kit that will add a new flavour to almost any type of production.
Use our custom drum kit for Ableton, or drop the WAV samples into any software or hardware and use them your own way. The Ableton kit comes with a few different effects we tuned to the kit, and also allows you to shape the sounds in useful ways when playing, programming, or automating these “percs.”
